The wide gate
The wide gate opened when Adam and Eve disobeyed and rebelled against their
Creator. Since the opening of the wide gate millions have entered the broad
wide way that leads to destruction.
The gate is the gate of lies. Many have entered through the gate of lies
believing they shall not surely die. They know they will die physically; the
cemeteries testify to the fact all physical life ends. Many have entered the
broad way through the gate of lies believing through knowledge they can become
like God knowing good and evil. Many have entered the broad way through the
gate of lies believing there are many roads that lead to the
On the broad way
On the broad way you will find those who do not have hurtful or injurious
qualities. On the broad way you will find those who conform to a standard of
what is considered right and good. On the broad way you will find those who
conform to a high standard of morality or virtue. On the broad way you will
find those who are free from hypocrisy or pretense. On the broad way you will
find those who manifest a strict regard for what is morally right; they are
good, honest, hard working individuals. On the broad way you will find those
who are strong supporters of the church. They are partakers of the sacraments.
On the broad way you will find those who never knowingly do anything to their
neighbors they would not want their neighbors to do to them.
On the broad way you will find the lovers of self and lovers of money. On the
broad way you will find the boastful, arrogant, revilers, ungrateful, unholy,
unloving, gossips, haters of good, conceited, lovers of pleasure more than
lovers of God and those who hold to a form of godliness but deny its power. On
the broad you will find the abusers of men, women and children, rapists, murders,
fornicators, the wolves in sheep clothing.
The keeper of the gate is Satan disguised as an angel of light.
The narrow gate
The narrow gate is the gate of truth.
Few enter the gate of truth. Those who enter the gate of truth know they shall
surely not die. They know they will die physically. They know that through
death they come to the door, “if anyone enters he will be saved, and will go in
and go out, and will find pasture (John 10:9). Those who walk the narrow way
know death is not the end it is the beginning of life. Those who walk the
narrow way know death is not a time of sorrow but a time for celebration. Death
brings an end to sorrow, pain and suffering.
On the narrow way we find the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those
who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the pure in heart, the peacemakers,
those who have been persecuted for righteousness sake, those who are insulted,
persecuted, and falsely accused of doing evil because they believe in Jesus
Christ. On the narrow way we find the salt of the earth and the light of the
world.
The door if anyone enters he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will
find pasture.
The door is the good shepherd. The door is the Lamb of God. The door is the
eternal Word that was in the beginning, with God and is God. The door is the
Alpha and the Omega, the Lord God who is, who is to come, the Almighty. The
door is the One that has the keys of death and Hades. The door is the One who
holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden
lampstands. The door is the first and last who was dead and has come to life.
The door is the One who has the sharp two-edged sword. The door is the Son of
God whose eyes are like a flame of fire and His feet like burnished bronze. The
door is the One that has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. The door
is the One who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no
one can shut and who shuts and no one can open. The door is the Amen, the
faithful and true Witness. The door is the Lion of Judah. The door is the
promised Messiah. The door is the One who bruised the head of the serpent. The
door is the One who gave Himself as a sacrifice to take away the sins of the
world. The door is the Lord Jesus Christ.
The way into the kingdom of God is through repentance, believing the gospel,
the new birth, the door if anyone enters he will be saved, and will go in and
go out, and will find pasture.
How do we get to the
